Advanced Talent Training

Educational area

Advance Talent Training is an educational programme running from October 2020 to June 2021, and has been designed by the Foundation's technical team in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Cambridge. It is aimed at the 600 fifth-year secondary education students selected for the 2020/21 edition of the Foundation's Scholarship Programme.

Advance Talent Training is an interdisciplinary digital programme taught in English by professionals from the two institutions collaborating with the Amancio Ortega Foundation in this new initiative. In the first part of the programme, participants will take part in an immersion in STEAM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) designed and directed by MIT, a leading international institution in these fields of knowledge. For one term, topics such as artificial intelligence, space exploration, the relationship between music and the physics of sound, and mathematical creativity will be covered through classes, talks, workshops and collective activities in small groups.

In the second part of the programme, the 600 students will participate in high-performance individualised language training provided by the University of Cambridge, aimed at using their English language skills as a high-level academic and professional tool. After two full terms of training, programme participants will be able to complete this experience by taking an internationally-recognised official exam that will provide them with great opportunities both in the academic world and in their professional future.
