Collaboration with the National Hospital for Paraplegics in Toledo

In November 2025, the Amancio Ortega Foundation and the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha signed a collaboration agreement to develop projects at the National Paraplegic Hospital in Toledo, a national reference center for the treatment of complex spinal cord injuries.

Thanks to the agreement, the Foundation will contribute €11.24 million to fund projects focused on advanced treatments and scientific innovation, enabling the hospital to lead innovations and set standards in advanced treatments, driving the future of medicine, scientific progress, and the well-being of people with spinal cord injuries.

Among the projects to be implemented are the acquisition of robotic systems for treatment and rehabilitation, high-level training programs for professionals, new units for scientific research, and an intensive, personalized rehabilitation program to improve hand function in tetraplegic patients through brain stimulation techniques.
